Lex is back in school

It's been awhile since my last post and a lot has happened since then. Bills are still killing me and with the new big expense I'm in the hole at this point. I haven't been very busy and when I am it still broke. It makes no damn sense. Brian is still saving for his gun and has been trying to get a job in security while he is in school for Criminal Justice. So his very little income is not helping out with the bills since it's being saved for his stuff.

Alexie went back to school today. He was NOT happy about that. He has bitched about it for the last week. This morning he got up pretty good for the time he fell asleep last night. He told me that his day went well and he had some fun. He found out he will be going on a field trip to see the arctic exhibit at the Galleria soon. They also got their pictures in and his came out very good. Doesn't he look so cute!

We went to the movies last night to see Toy Story 3 at the South Point in 3D. It was really good it kept our attention and at points it was so sad but then very funny. I would recommend it. But my head started badly hurting by the end from the glasses and it gave me a huge migraine. But all in all it was a good time.

College

Brian is making more and more progress everyday, I'm very pleased to announce he is now a registered college student with CSN. Brian, Alexie and I went down to the college this afternoon and spoke with the registrar and got him all signed up. We then spoke with the academic counselor and added his classes. This semester he is taking, Criminal Justice 101 & 102, Music Appreciation and Mathematics 101. Only 3 days a week. He still needs to take his placement exams which we will be studying for through the week. I already printed out practically a book on general math with practice questions. Tomorrow we are hitting up the library to grab some books for him to cram with on algebra. That algebra is a mystery to him and I both.

We also were able to speak with the financial aid lady today, she gave us information on the different options we have. At this point we have filled out a FAFSA application and he was approved for a full payment. He is also eligible for a Pell Grant up too $5,500. The lady told us he will have to check back in 4 weeks when his full financial report will be done to apply for the grant or any other type of loan.

I really am just so proud of my husband, he has been working hard to achieve a goal and that is new for him. He has never been a self starter and has never known what he wants to do. But that has totally changed and he is putting in the work to achieve a goal. GO BRIAN!!!! You can do it!!!

A day to remember

Yesterday was so much fun! We went to the children museum for the afternoon and ran around playing with everything! Lex had a blast with the science stuff and the tech stuff. I snapped a bunch of pictures of us too. The one above was of all of us in front of the silicone tubes. You can make bubbles in it and then race it to the top of the stairs it was a blast!

^This one is of Bry and Lex on the green screen. This is me and Lex hiding in the cave ->

After the museum we bought a volcano kit and did the cast of it and painted it. Lex had a blast because it was his 1st volcano. We ended up making it explode tonight. But we put a twist on it and made it sparkle! here is the picture.
How cool is that huh?!?

We then went swimming at the pool. I didn't swim much because the water was really cold and I just couldn't get use to it but the boys had fun chasing each other around tagging each other.

Today Brian had his concealed weapons test which was for 8 hours, 9 with lunch. He PASSED with flying colors!!! I am so proud of him!!! Tomorrow we are going to be going to the college to get him registered for classes. I took him out for a celebratory dinner tonight. We 1st went to the buffet at GVR casino but man it was 21.00 per person even kids! I thought buffets were suppose to be cheaper then a restaurant? So we left and decided to go to The Macaroni Grill. We had a great time and the server was awesome. The last time we went our server sucked and the food was screwed up but this time was totally different.

All in all a great time!!!

So proud

Wow business is so slooooow right now! Seriously people go out of town and call ME!! I'm starting to seriously worry about my finances since next month I have to take on another 980$ each month bill. I don't know how I'm gonna do it man. It's gonna be rough with the car and all the other bills I just don't know how I'm gonna do it.

But on that note I do have some awesome news!!! My hubby enrolled in college and got a full FAFSA grant!!! I'm so proud of him it's unreal! He's going for criminal justice, he wants to be a U.S. Marshal. Tomorrow he is doing training to get his Concealed Weapons Permit. After that is done we will be registering him for classes and then getting him his equipment. I really am so proud of him and I hope and pray he sees this threw and does a good job. I want him to have a career and not just a "job" that is dispensable.

Lex's tutoring is coming along well. He took the day off today but still read for a half hour. I'm trying to get his reading, writing and math grades up and get him threw 1st grade on to 2nd. I have found a bountiful of information, free worksheets, and so much more on the internet. I really am hoping the work we're putting in shows in his grades when he goes back to school.

Wish me luck I'm going to need it!!!!

Buried alive in paperwork

The last few days I have been dealing with business stuff like crazy. I have been up to my neck in paperwork, legal docs and client demands.

So my first crap storm was a client who I had a M&G with 3 weeks ago. He then calls me 3 days before the start date asking for a ton of crap. Here is the list:

Also - we need to get some more info from you.  Please fax us the following information:

1.  A copy of your driver's license and the license of any other individuals who will be visiting our home.

2.  A copy of your business license, business license number and business insurance name and policy number.

3.  The name and phone # of other pet sitting services who can vouch for you.

4.  The name and phone # of the vet you use and can provide a reference for you also the vet you use in case of emergency.

5.  A list of client references that we can contact.

6. Your car insurance carrier and policy number in case of emergency.
Now come on here people!!!!

He asked for this info on Memorial day when I was swamped to the max. I then sent him a email stating I can't give out policy numbers, drivers licenses of anyone, and that I would not give him my personal vets name. He then told me that he wanted the info by the end of the day. At 4pm after getting the email at 11am he calls and cancels and wants his deposit back UGH!!!

My second big crap storm was with the tax office here. I had to get an exemption or so I was told by the lady at city hall. It turned out to be that I needed something totally different and searched for 3 days on how to fill out the damn papers til finally I gave in and called the tax office. After waiting 3hrs I got my answer!

The rest of my storm was due to end of month accounting and records. I had to do all my accounting for the month, receipts, banking, and mileage logs. That took me a whole day to complete.

So now I am tired and have two M&G's tomorrow so I'm off.

My night

Went to Chuck E Cheese for dinner tonight. I happen to love their pizza I don't know how they make it or why in the world I like it but it is yummy! We played a few video games and hung out for a little over an hour there. We had fun and it was relaxing.

Before Chuck E Cheese we went to King Putts to mini golf. King Putts is a indoor black lit mini golf course. It's a pretty cool place a lot of the time it's packed full with someone on each of the 18 holes and people waiting in line. Tonight there was barely anyone playing so we took our time. It was a fun game Brian won I came in second and Lex 3rd.

All in all it was a pretty good night. We got to relax have some fun and spend some quality time together.
